THERMO KING SB-III CR Specifications
(please be aware this is a Thermo King product.  GSD has no association with Thermo King)

Description
A high-capcity, one-piece, frontmount, cryogen powered cooling and heating unit designed and engineered for today's jumbo trailers. Unit has no engine, no compressor and uses a naturally occuring refrigerant: carbon dioxide. An exclusive Thermo King designed and built vapor motor operated by high-pressure carbon dioxide, gas powers the evaporator blower and a brushless alternator. A propane fired heater superheats carbon dioxide for heating and defrost.

Refrigeration Capacity
System net cooling capacity at 100º F (38º C) ambient and high-speed engine operation.

** Data extrapolated from tests with empty trailers. 100 lbs (45 kg) reserve LCO2 left in tank. Initial pulldown requires approx. 150 lbs (68 kg) of LCO2.

Refueling Station

Site Requirments
Liquid carbon dioxide station, 35 ton (31,750 kg) recommended. Liquid carbon dioxide is delivered by gas companies at 300 psi (2.1 MPa).

Connections For Fill Station
1. Insulated liquid supply line:
    1.0" (25.4 mm) diameter copper
2. Vapor supply line:
    1/2" (12.7 mm) diameter copper
3. Power supply:
110 volt AC, 15 amp service

Thermo King Automatic Fill Station
Dimensions: 48" (1220 mm) wide x 41" (1041 mm) length x 18.5" (470 mm) deep

  • Pressure conversion to 120 psi (0.8 MPa) from 300 psi (2.1 MPa)
  • Filters dirt and water ice
  • Reduces fill noise by 97%
  • Automatic shut-off: prevents freeze-up of unit tank
  • Automatic purge: keeps filling system free of dirt and moisture
  • Refuels 900 lbs (408 kg) in 15 minutes

Other Considerations
Quality of fuels and cleanliness of equipment is important for trouble-free operation.
Fill station comes with standard 10' (3 m) hoses; longer hoses available.

* Tank Guard
Tank Guard is a Thermo King designed, foam insulated aluminum shield, that protects the SB-III CR's cryogenic storage tank.
